The Food Revolution International Omelette Challenge
12 May 2016
This Food Revolution Day we are starting a global conversation about a widely loved dish – the humble Omelette. The ultimate fast food, and depending on what you put in it, can be a perfectly balanced nutritious meal. But what does your choice of fillings say about you and where you are from?
We want you to create a healthy omelette that symbolises your nation through the ingredients and methods used to create it. It could be a spice that originated from your country, leeks that are grown down the road, something from local history or even using veg that has the same colours as the national flag. All made with the best local eggs you can afford and your own, personally perfected technique of cooking. Check out Jamie’s Food Revolution simple cheese omelette for inspiration here.
One winner will receive a unique trophy to keep next to your frying pan to remind you of your global triumph eggainst all odds. And a money-can’t buy prize that we have never done before. Your recipe will be given the VIP Jamie treatment by his Food Team then styled and shot by one of Jamie’s trusted professional food photographers. It will get the same love as one of Jamie’s own recipes while it is developed, tested, styled and the process written up so it looks like it came straight from a cookery book. Your recipe will then appear on the front page of Jamieoliver.com, be featured as his ‘recipe of the day’ on his social channels and be printed in Jamie Magazine forever there for other omelette lovers around the world to make your creation.
So get cracking on this ultimate fast food and share your omelettes on any of your social platforms with #FoodRevolution.
Entries open on Thursday 12 May 2016 and are subject to applicable terms and conditions.
